Love Don't Cost a Thing

But if you want to create delicious meals that your family and friends will love a certain retailer marketed as the source for gourmet foods and professional-quality cookware would lead you to believe that food love will cost you $. Not!

Last Wednesday this retailer sent out an email blast that celebrated a Fried Chicken Kit ! A Fried Chicken Kit! Are you kidding me?! And get this – they were offering it at the low and affordable price of $278.35 – Deep Sauté Pan and Fry Basket & Tongs $199.95, Fried Chicken Seasoning & Dressing $27.45 (what is Fried chicken dressing, anyway?), Brining Bags $16.00, 3 Stainless steel breading pans $34.95. Really? Gets even better, they offer an electric marinator for $199.95. For those who don’t know - an electric marinator is a vacuum machine that automatically rotates meat slowly during marinating, so foods are evenly coated with the marinade mixture. Total $756.65 !! For 1/2 of this I will come to your home marinate evenly and fry your chicken.

How about this? Caste iron skillet $20 - $70 depending on size, tongs $10 - $40, Saluda Spice Co. Chicken Blend $9.00, Zip lock large bags box of 30 $4.99 (will cover brining and breading and marinating – just turn a few times for even coating of the marinade) Total $43.99 - $123.99 and savings of $712.66 - $632.66! You will actually have money left over to buy chicken, flour and oil, some side dishes, pay a few bills, put some money in the bank or maybe go to a movie.

Tastefully yours,

Kimberly
